Meet Information
Location: Chatuge Dam Course, Hayesville. ENTRY DEADLINE: Received by Tuesday, September 21st,
2010, by 6:00 pm. Email all entries to: hhs_xc@hayesvillehs.org. Use EXCEL form found on the school
website (www.hayesvillehs.org/athletics/crosscountry) for entries: (Make sure to specify Mens or
Womens Championship (7 Runners) or Open (High School Only, No Limit). TEAM SCORING: Team
scores will be computed by totaling the top five (5) runners finish positions. The 6th and 7th runners will
count as pushers. Teams with less than five runners will not be totaled in the team scores but will be
scored in the individual scoring. COURSE INSPECTION: Course will be available for inspection on Race
Day, September 25th from 8:45 am through 9:45am. Coaches Meeting will be held at 9:40am in the
Start/Finish Area.
Carney Classic Open 5k Walk/Run will begin at 10:00am
Mens Championship Race will begin at 11:00am
Womens Championship Race will begin at 11:30am
Mens Open Race will begin at 12:10pm
Womens Open Race will begin at 12:45pm

on top of page and also attached to this email. It is a PUBLISHER file. Surface includes 2/3 (grass) and 1/3
(pavement/gravel).
AWARDS:
Championship Division: Individual (Medals) 1- 10 place, Top Team (Plaque)
Open Division: Individual (Medals) 1-3 place
Carney Classic Open and Coaches 5k Run/Walk: Individual (Medals) 1-3 place(mens/womens)
for each Age Group / Coaches Division
PACKETS: Pick up packets at the table near start/finish area between 9:00am and 9:40am on race day.

Signs to Chatuge Dam / TVA are present along HWY 64 and Myers Chapel Road. Following are

Coming from Franklin:

At 1 Light take left onto Myers Chapel Road
Go approximately mile and bear left onto Chatuge Dam Rd.
Dam is approximately 1.3 miles ahead
Coming from Hiawassee, GA:
At stoplight at intersection of HWY 69 and HWY 64 take right onto 64E
Go past Ingles to next light
Take right onto Myers Chapel Road
Go approximately mile and bear left onto Chatuge Dam Rd.
Dam is approximately 1.3 miles ahead
Coming from Peachtree / Murphy:

Go approximately mile and bear left onto Chatuge Dam Rd.
